In recent years, students and teachers from European schools have been actively involved in the different actions of the Lifelong Learning Programme. Members of school communities, municipalities, local, regional and national institutions have implemented and experienced the European dimension, the gift of knowing different cultures, exchanging good practices, improving languages and broadening minds. Therefore, we want to participate once again in Erasmus + to set new goals in the strategy of schools and strive for fulfilling the aim of education – namely, to teach and educate future European citizens within the context of active, demanding, up-to-date methodologies and technologies, making efforts for the modernization and internationalization of the educational process and providing new paths to the unexpected challenges of our societies.

The ideal picture of a respectful and fair society must offer individuals equal human rights, a peaceful existence and a standard of living that provides nourishment, medical care and education for all, but that is not so granted and awarded. Actually, some fundamental rights are still denied or unknown. Europe is facing important social challenges, economic recession, immigration, or increasing social inequality that may damage the very foundations of the European Union , the remarkable and unique cultural heritage and equalitarian values. All of us should be concerned with the importance of preventing any sort of violent responses and determined to overcome difficulties in terms of tolerance, respect and social inclusion.

As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

Our project “You and me- we are the same” emphasizes the necessity of building up social bonds among classmates, youngsters and all members of the same community to foster intercultural understanding to achieve a global culture of tolerance and respect.

With this project, we aim at giving our students a behavioural change in order to respect each other and enhance their knowledge on Human Rights (including Children’s Rights), based on people’s demands for a life in which taking care of the needs and rights of others could become a daily attitude. In order to achieve goals like self- respect, tolerance, preservation of human dignity, caring and empathy, we need a chance to share and exchange experiences, opinions and visits. The cooperation with different youngsters from different countries of Europe will give the students the precious chance to transform theoretical knowledge of understanding different cultures and languages into a very effective practical experience.

We would like to contribute in eliminating all forms of social (because of age, disability, gender, or beliefs) and racial (race, color or national origin) discrimination and make our students open- minded people, active citizens and future stakeholders of social entrepreneurship.

We have to widen their sights by exploring alternative paths to destroy prejudices about diversities and instill positive attitudes, to get aware that diversity means richness and that everybody is different but equal in rights. Carrying out projects to an transnational level will have positive impacts on all participants and even on institutions and our communities. İt will have long-term impacts at the local, regional, national and European levels, lasting values and sustainable effects. It will help most of all the participants to extend and deepen their capacities for thinking and acting locally, nationally and globally in order to enhance the viability of their trajectories. Our students will have the chance to discover how other students and peers and cultures are like. So, the increased diversity of skills, knowledge, cultures and perspectives of such transnational projects can have potentially positives influences and outcome.

Transnational learning mobility about different European countries and educational systems through visits to partners’ countries and study of the best examples as our common cultural inheritance together with the development of the new approaches.The purpose of the transnational project meetings will be the development of strong transnational partnership and intercultural dialogue, so as to be able to: build up plans and achieve the aims and objectives of the project; establish international teams with specific functions and tasks: coordination and time management, budget control, dissemination, evaluation; carry out the process monitoring and evaluation as well as dissemination planning and performance; Monitor and analyse the progress and results; create new successful Youth-exchange projects.
